The “Penny Ferry” rooms are designed for 3 to 5 year olds. They comprise of one room for messy play, free choice play and eating; and a larger room for learning activities, role play, reading area, writing area and computers.

The carers in these rooms all have a very good knowledge of the foundation stage curriculum

The children in the “Penny Ferry” rooms are divided into three age based groups each with its own key worker. Activities are designed by the key workers, head of room and pre-school manager to cater for the children’s individual needs and interests.

Regular informal assessments take place (without the children’s knowledge) to ensure that our planning is relevant to each child’s skills and that progress is maintained.
